 Midrange Zoom Lens

This lens’s wide-angle to telephoto-zoom length makes it great for a range of applications, including vacation photography and general “walking-around” photography, while its 1.5-foot minimum focusing distance is quite nice for close-up work. Its constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range.

 Advanced Optics

 This lens’s fourteen-group/eighteen-element optical formula includes “F” Low Dispersion and Super Low Dispersion elements that minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing while providing high clarity, color fidelity, and sharpness. It also features a Super Spectra Coating, which helps to suppress ghosting and flare in order to improve contrast and color accuracy when working in bright and backlit conditions. Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

 Ultrasonic Motor

 It uses a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) and STM mechanism to provide fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance for both still and video shooters. You also get full-time manual-focus override for precision adjustments when working in one-shot autofocus mode.

 Optical Image Stabilization

 The RF 24-105mm f/4L’s built-in image stabilizer works in tandem with the EOS R's Dual Sensing IS system and helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by five stops to better enable working in low-light conditions.

 Configurable Control Ring

This 24-105mm RF mount L-series lens features a special tactile control ring on the barrel of the lens ring for intuitively adjusting exposure settings, including ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation, from the lens itself. Rotation clicks give you the sensory cue needed to make these settings changes while composing your shot. You can also change the direction of manual focus control for the focusing ring.
