The Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM is one of Sony's most advanced large-aperture prime telephoto lenses. It is designed to cover the full-frame sensors on Sony a7 / a9-series cameras. Since it’s an E-mount lens, it’s also fully compatible with APS-C cameras as well.
Pro-Grade Medium Telephoto Prime & Aperture
The FE 135 GM’s fast f/1.8 aperture and medium tele focal length make it perfect for portrait photography. Bright f/1.8 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers a wealth of control over focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques.
XD Linear Motor Autofocus System
An XD Linear Motor system and internal focus mechanism provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance that’s great for still and video use. Two dedicated focus hold buttons and an AF/MF switch help to tailor focusing to your shooting needs. There’s also a manual aperture ring that can be “de-clicked” for smooth aperture adjustment when shooting video.
G-Master Series Quality
The GM series is Sony’s premium lens offering. This lens is designed to achieve notably high resolution and sharpness through the correction of a wide variety of spherical and chromatic aberrations. Additionally, these lenses feature robust and intuitive-to-handle physical designs to benefit both photography and cine applications. What sets it apart from other Sony lenses is an emphasis on an extremely high resolving power of fifty lines per mm, out-of-focus “bokeh” quality, and a robust, weather-sealed body.
Advanced Optics
The FE 85 GM uses One XA element which features superior surface precision for effective control over astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other spherical aberrations. Extra-low dispersion element with one Super ED element helps to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality. Additionally a Nano AR Coating has been applied to reduce surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for increased contrast and color rendering in strong lighting conditions. The rounded eleven-blade aperture diaphragm produces smooth out-of-focus highlights when you desire a shallow depth of field.
High-Quality Build
The FE 85 GM offers Dust- and moisture-sealed design that better permits working in inclement conditions and rubberized control rings benefit handling in colder temperatures. Fluorine-coated front element resists dust, moisture, and fingerprints and is easy to clean. The Physical aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth, silent aperture switching to benefit video applications.
Movri Canada, providing the mail-delivery system, is set out to make the gear available at more affordable prices through online rentals.
