Rode NTG4+ Shotgun Microphone with Digital Switch and Built-In Rechargeable Battery is designed for ENG, filmmaking, field recording, sound design, and broadcast applications. The microphone builds upon the success of the NTG1 and NTG2 microphones with an updated capsule to deliver broadcast quality sound and digital switching options for versatile field operation. The microphone comes with an RM5 microphone stand mount, a foam windscreen, micro USB cable and a carrying pouch.

Classic Shotgun Design

Rode keeps it simple with a super-cardioid directional pickup pattern and 20 to 20,000 Hz frequency range. This lightweight, metal-bodied NTG4+ is designed to be mounted on a boom, a handheld pistol grip, or atop a compact camera for run and gun style filmmaking. 

Digital Switches

There are three switching buttons with LED indicators on the side of the mic for easy access to common functions.

The first button provides a -10 dB pad on the input of the microphone to allow the recording of loud sounds without clipping.
The middle button turns on a 75 Hz high pass filter which is useful for reducing low frequency and infrasonic rumble from HVAC systems indoors or street traffic outdoors from over-powering the recording.

The third button is a high frequency boost.  It can help improve the intelligibility of recorded speech, especially useful for filmmaking and broadcast applications.

High Quality Sound Capture

The combination of the 10.9" long body and super-cardioid polar pattern yields focused front-facing directionality and enhanced attenuation of sound entering from the sides. Its low self-noise of 16 dBA and sensitive condenser element communicate detailed audio unburdened by the hiss that plagues many low-cost microphones. Its balanced output allows longer cable runs than most camera-mount shotgun microphones. Additionally The NTG4+ has a foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners.

Rechargeable Battery

The NTG4+ can capture audio for up to 150 hours with its built-in lithium-ion battery. When the battery is drained, simply plug it into a USB outlet to recharge. The micro-USB port and supplied USB cable enable easy recharging in just two hours. Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output, the NTG4+ is compatible with a variety of handheld audio recorders, field recorders, and mixer adapters as well as built-in preamps on many camcorders and cinema cameras.
