As part of the Art line within Sigma's Global Vision series, the Canon EF-mount 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Lens is designed to achieve truly notable optical performance and is ideally suited for creative and artistic applications. It is a versatile zoom for everyday shooting, covers a useful wide-angle to portrait-length range of focal lengths to suit shooting in a variety of environments. 

Fast Aperture
When used on a full-frame camera, the Sigma 24-70mm Art provides a fast-aperture, wide to short tele focal range. Constant f/2.8 maximum aperture is well-suited for working in available light conditions and also provides greater control over depth of field when using shallow depth of field techniques. 

High-Quality Optics
As a part of Sigma’s Art lens line, this new 24-70 Art is subjected to rigorous testing to ensure high image quality with an optical build that includes 19 elements in 14 groups. Four aspherical elements control spherical aberrations and distortion for increased sharpness and accurate rendering. Three Special Low Dispersion elements correct for chromatic aberrations and color fringing while ensuring high image sharpness, clarity, and contrast. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions. Rounded nine-blade diaphragm is constructed from durable, fluorine-coated polycarbonate and also features a carbon feather film for smooth performance when working with fast continuous shooting rates. 

Steady Hands, Fast Focus
An Optical Stabilizer system reduces camera shake making for sharper imagery when shooting handheld. The autofocus system provides fast, smooth, and quiet operation in a broad range of shooting situations. You can also manually override the autofocus motor at any time by rotating the focusing ring, giving you quick fine-tuning ability. 

Hyper Sonic Motor Autofocus System
Integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) realizes quick and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also permits full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any time. 

Quality Build
The lens is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. The lens mount is made up of brass that affords improved mounting accuracy and rigidity. Additionally, rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it dust- and splash-resistant.

• The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art Lens for Canon EF can be paired with both full frame sensor cameras, such as the 5D Mark IV and with crop frame sensor cameras. such as the Canon 80D. The focal length equivalent on crop frame sensors is 38.4-112mm.

• This lens is not compatible with 2X and 1.4X Canon extenders.

• It is compatible with the Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.

• This lens is ideal for portrait photography, weddings, events, traveling and candids.

• As of 09/2016, Sigma issued the following warning about pairing Sigma lenses with the Canon 5D Mark IV:
  "Manual Override function is unavailable with this camera. Full-time manual function can be offered. When using a Sigma interchangeable lens, setting the corrections to 'Disable' is recommended, as 'Lens Correction' functions of the camera (such as Peripheral Illumination Correction, Chromatic Aberration Correction, Diffraction Correction, and Distortion Correction) are not supported."
