Movri provides Lens & Camera Rentals for professional photographers, videographers, filmmakers, and photography/videography hobbyists.
As part of the Art line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly notable optical performance and is ideally suited for creative and artistic applications.
Fast f/1.4 Aperture Wide Angle
The combination of normal focal range and fast f/1.4 aperture is well-suited for working in low-light conditions and makes this lens ideal for portraiture where subject-background isolation is needed.
High-Quality Optics
As a part of Sigma’s Art lens line, this lens goes through Sigma’s rigorous A1 testing to ensure high image quality. It features a molded glass aspherical element to eliminate sagittal coma flare, vignetting, and color blur throughout the aperture range. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements have been incorporated within the lens design to correct for axial chromatic aberration throughout the entire focusing range. This helps to ensure image sharpness, clarity, and contrast regardless of focus point or aperture setting. All this is incorporated into a floating system that helps to realize a minimum focusing distance of 1.3' with a maximum magnification of 1:5.6 and also contributes to high detail rendering. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.
Hyper Sonic Motor Autofocus System
The integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) realizes quick and quiet autofocusing, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance in a wide variety of shooting situations. The HSM also permits full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any time.
Quality Build
The lens is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals, for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations.
Movri Canada, providing the mail-delivery system, is set out to make the gear available at more affordable prices through online rentals.

For Canon 5D Mark IV users, as of 09/2016, Sigma issued the following warning about pairing Sigma lenses with the Canon 5D Mark IV:
"Manual Override function is unavailable with this camera. Full-time manual function can be offered. When using a Sigma interchangeable lens, setting the corrections to 'Disable' is recommended, as 'Lens Correction' functions of the camera (such as Peripheral Illumination Correction, Chromatic Aberration Correction, Diffraction Correction, and Distortion Correction) are not supported."
